Seniors who make the Central Coast a truly wonderful place to live can be recognised for their efforts, with Adam Crouch MP urging locals to nominate them for the 2022 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch said nominations are now open for the awards program, which celebrates the work and achievements of seniors throughout our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSeniors are invaluable to our region as volunteers, carers and role models \u2013 even more so given the challenges of the last two years,\u201d Mr Crouch said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then I encourage you to nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winners of the Local Achievement Awards will be announced during a special afternoon tea with Minister for Seniors Mark Coure, during NSW Seniors Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSW Seniors Week is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere and enables older people to engage with each other, their community, services and supports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister for Seniors, Mark Coure, said the festival and the awards highlight the vital role seniors play in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis annual festival is about celebrating the positive impact of older people in our families and society,\u201d Mr Coure said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese initiatives also provide an important opportunity for seniors to participate in their communities in meaningful and engaging ways.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is one of many initiatives the NSW Government promotes to support the state\u2019s seniors in living happy, healthy and active lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will continue to challenge ageism and empower seniors to overcome social stigmas by highlighting their continued efforts in helping communities thrive,\u201d Mr Coure added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
